The pages within are not as thick, but still are a heavier stock than you would expect from the description of "paperback". We have since read the book and were delighted with the story.. How clever. We found this book to be very boring. We would not read it more than once.
My daughters and i enjoyed this book. Very sweet story about giving and receiving. Highly recommend. Be prepared though, your girls will want sparkly red shoes )
This is a great book that I love reading to my little sister who thinks it is the best book ever.
There are so many books out there for kids that somehow miss the mark. This book, however is really a gem. They say you can't judge a book by its cover. But this book may very well be the exception to that rule. The illustrations are just as wonderful inside as they are on the cover! Great message, great story. One of the few books that I love just as much as my daughter does.
This story is delightful. The illustrations are beautiful. I could just picture this actually happening.

When I read the book to my 5 year old grand daughter she was enchanted. She loves her own ruby red slippers and having the book makes it complete. The pictures are worthy of framing, the story is adorable. Definitely a book for every young girl and a great book for every grandmother to share.

A modern fairy tale come true.
There are children's books that we come in contact with that bring that special feeling back into your life. This is one of them. For older kids, the story is fun and inviting. For younger kids, you have to edit the story as you go, but it is still an amazing hit. Even for my 1 year old daughter, it was a fun treat.

This is a great book that not only teaches the value of treasured possessions, but also important life lessons!

I highly recommend it to all parents with kids- girls do seem to enjoy it more than boys though. 0)
